About Me:
Dr. Melissa Ing
In 2017, I took a leap of faith that Tufts Dental would advocate for me when I reported my sexual harasser, a man with a known serial history of misogynistic harassing towards dental students and faculty. Instead, I was denied promotion to full professor, while 8 men were held to lower standards. I was bullied, punished for reporting, retaliated and discriminated against. #whistleblower
I was severely punished by a network of complicit enablers, central in protecting the perpetrator and the university. I suffered mental, physical, and financial anguish, eventually pushed out of my 30-year national multiple award-winning career, while the abuse was covered up.
I was forcibly silenced with a protective order, prohibited from speaking documented truth, even though this is against U.S. Title IX law and First Amendment Rights.
My journey is #lonely but I learned that #iamnotalone.
Across the globe millions of women and men suffer sexual violence.
Trauma has no time stamp. The smallest symptoms trigger tears. I still have terrible nightmares about my perpetrators. Recovery is slow.
Yet, I have moved from betrayal to restored faith in people; from being powerless to being empowered; from angry to being an activist. I build awareness. I work on public policy to stop sexual abuse, including filing of a petition to the United States Supreme Court, #SCOTUS; public awareness of "Pass the Harasser" problems #stoppasstheharasser; and confidentiality agreements related to sexual harassment and sexual assault. #stopNDA
I went back to school at age 58, receiving my MBA. I founded a small business, producing sustainable affirmation/playing cards, encouraging #positivity and #kindness.
My Voice Matters...
I speak on behalf of those that cannot.

Sexual Misconduct Defined:
Both men and women can be found guilty of sexual abuse.
Contrary to myth, sexual harassment, assault, and rape are rarely about sex, unwanted sexual desire, or sexual coercion.
Most of the time, sexual misconduct and sexual violence are about abuse of power, manipulation, humiliation, and disrespect, as depicted by an "Iceberg of Sexual Misconduct".
To eradicate sexual abuse it is important to first educate and provide public consiousness.
We challenge societal norms and advocate for gender equality in all aspects of life. By raising awareness and promoting education, we strive to create a future free from discrimination and oppression.

Stop Pass The Harasser
Unfortunately, institutions are not a safe place to study or work, even though every student, staff, and teacher has a right to safety.
Professors, Deans, and other University Administration have been shown to sexually harass, assault, and even rape students and faculty. This is such a common phenomenon that the problem is given the moniker "Pass the Harasser" The problem is so severe that in 2019 The Chronicle of Higher Education called "Pass the Harasser" higher education's worst kept secret.
Don't our nation's and world's kids and teachers deserve so much better?
Along with legislators, Dr. Ing brings public awareness and works on eradication of Pass the Harasser.
To protect and enhance our future:
We must continue to Eradicate ALL Confidentiality Agreements involving Sexual Misconduct, Assault, and related Retaliation.
